Module Description

This module allows learners to understand what governance is and analysis governance in from the lens of risk. It allows learners to understand further in depth how to assess and deal with risk and how to report risk in a clear and understandable manner. 

 

Entry Requirements

Students should be at least 18 years+ and in possession of a minimum MQF Level 5 Undergraduate Diploma in Facilities Management

AND

Be in possession of one of the following:

  • (a) Grade 5 in English (Matsec Certificate)
  • IELTs 6.0
  • Or an equivalent qualification.

 

Audience

This course is targeted at:

  • individuals aspiring to work as a facility and operation managers.
  • individuals who wish to advance their education and gain in depth knowledge and skills related to facilities and operation management.
  • individuals already working in the field related to facilities and operation management and would like to obtain qualification in this sector. 

 

Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to:

  • Monitor and manage risks effectively within facilities management
  • Collaborate with organisations in the implementation of effective corporate governance and risk management
  • Guide others in implementing effective risk management techniques

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the following skills: 

  • Show understanding of the ethical and philosophical criteria that make up good governance
  • Assess how the implementation of good governance through risk management can lead to added value of the organization
  • Discuss how policies and procedures are crucial for effective facilities management
  • Identify ways of recognizing risks and managing such risks in facilities management

 

 

Assessment

This module shall be assessed through the use of a 2 hour examination whereby learners shall be assessed on the learning outcomes included in this module. In the case that learners do not pass on the first try, learners can re-sit the assessment. In the case of recurring failure, learners shall be asked to re-do the module.
