Module Description

This module allows learners to gain understanding of the construction industry from implementation to finishes. It will provide them with a better understanding of the fundamental roles and responsibilities in the construction industry.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to:

  1. Better understand their competence skills in line with the construction industry
  2. Analyse their roles and responsibilities within the construction industry
  3. Evaluate and describe different construction roles and responsibilities
  4. Understand the basics of plan layout, related symbols and items

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the following skills:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge to explain their actual job, skills and responsibilities.
  2. Able to ask questions to express lack of understanding   
  3. Identify the need to understand the construction industry or trade
  4. Understand the types of sectors within the construction industry
  5. Able to understand plan layout features and their differences

Assessment

This module shall be assessed through face-to-face 30-45 minute interviews.

Learners must obtain a minimum of 50% of the total mark in order to successfully pass from the module. If learners do not pass on the first try, they are given another attempt at the interview. Should the learner fail again, they will be required to re-do the course
