Module Description

This module will expose the learner with different level of financial knowledge.  It will explore the aspects of finance at both business level as well the use of financial knowledge required by the Real Estate Intermediation service provision.  It will also enhance knowledge of the learner in understanding how real estate financing works and which types of financing are available in the market.

Entry Requirements

Students should be in possession of a minimum School Leaving Certificate MQF Level 3

AND

License of real estate manager

AND/OR

Be in possession of one of the following:

(a) Secondary Education Certificate in English as issued by Matsec at grade 5 or higher.”

(b) Or IELTs 6.0

(c) Or an equivalent qualification.

Audience

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to:

  1. Capable of understanding the Financial aspect within the Real Estate intermediation and Real Estate investment business.
  2. Capable of accessing different financing stakeholders.
  3. Build stable business relationships with Financiers.
  4. Capable of preparing and translating a financial plan.
  5. Be capable of maximizing Return on Investment and conduct a solid financial strategy plan.
  6. Differentiate property investment scope according to segmentation.
  7. Monitoring of liquidity and cash flow required in the running of a business.
  8. Assess  in property investment aspects with stakeholders.

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the following skills:

  1. Capable of understanding different financial aspects pertaining to Real Estate Intermediation Business.
  2. Prepare and interpret a financial plan.
  3. Capable of execution and implementation of a financial plan
  4. Conduct and deliver sales forecasts.
  5. Identifying good financial investment property.
  6. Capable of calculating return on investment of property, identifying positive financial segmentation and utilizing investment opportunities for the best of the client.
  7. Capable on having a positive liquidity and cash flow business operation.
  8. Capable of attracting and retaining good financier relationships.

Assessment

This module shall be assessed by way of an assignment, not exceeding 4000 words. Learners must obtain a minimum of 50% of the total mark in order to successfully pass from the module. In the case that learners do not pass on the first try, learners can re-sit the examination. In the case of recurring failure, learners shall be asked to re-do the module.
