Module Description

This module will allow learners to define building materials and identify such problems that can occur on-site. They will be better able to understand the basics of stock inventory and orders. In addition, the trainees will learn the importance of insulation and how to choose the ideal insulation.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to:

Understand building materials and their suppliers
Produce a basic effective checking system and stock inventory
Ensure the importance of insulation and where they can select such material
Deal with and explain problems that might occur on-site by using clear communication skills and better understanding

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the following skills:

Demonstrate understanding of different types of materials and supplies
Use basic methods to place or confirm an order
Practise methods for an effective basic stock inventory system
Identify the use of insulations and where they can opt for such systems

Assessment

This module shall be assessed through face-to-face 30-45 minute interviews.

Learners must obtain a minimum of 50% of the total mark in order to successfully pass from the module. If learners do not pass on the first try, they are given another attempt at the interview. Should the learner fail again, they will be required to re-do the course
