Course Description

This course is an excellent choice for both existing and potential professionals within the facilities sector.This course will help the participants master the skills required to embark on a successful journey as a facilities managers. Learners will gain a comprehensive overview of the facilities industry and a solid understanding of the techniques available to deliver effective support services for any organization. This facilities management course will equip students with the skills and practical knowledge to understand this multi-discipline industry.

Through the successful completion of this programme, learners will be able to:

  • Co-ordinate activities and tasks about facilities management as well as ensure the effective management of facilities
  • Apply suitable risk assessment techniques for qualitative and quantitative risk analysis;
  • Evaluate the main tools, techniques, and models for understanding emerging and future risks;

  • Ensure implementation of sustainable measures within facilities;

Entry Requirements

Candidates who apply for this course must be in possession of the following:

A minimum MQF Level 4 Qualification (Matriculation Certificate)

AND

  • be in possession of
    Grade 5 in English (Matsec Certificate)
  • IELTs 6.0
  • Or an equivalent qualification.

 

Audience

This course is designed for those who already work in the field of facilities management in positions such as but not limited to ; facilities managers, facilities coordinators, facilities assistants, receptionists, hospitality industry professionals, personal assistants with office duties and HR professionals who are tasked to manage office spaces as part of their portfolio. This course is also open to candidates that do not currently work in this field but possess an MQF level 4 and would like to enter the facilities management industry.

This course will provide the academic underpinning required for all those who are already in the industry opening opportunities within their current organization and beyond.

Those who are new to facilities management but would like to branch out to this field, on successful completion of this course, will find career opportunities in the following roles: Facilities Manager, Facilities Coordinator, Facilities Project Manager, Facilities Assistant, Global Facilities Manager and Facilities Consultant.

Assessment

This programme shall be assessed by making use of mixed methods to ensure that the learners have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge and have obtained the stipulated learning outcomes. This course, therefore, includes exams inclusive of open-ended questions and multiple-choice questions, individual assignments and presentations, group assignments and presentations and case studies. The programme also makes use of formative assessments through observation and in-class discussions.

 

Intake dates

The next academic intake is February 2023 however, if the course is fully subscribed the next intake will be in May 2023.
